What does a volunteer at NETWorks do?

We have several different kinds of volunteer opportunities including:

  • Friendly Reception - greet neighbors when they come in and coordinate visitors

  • Lobby Floor Host - visit with neighbors, coordinate access to shopping floor

  • New Neighbor Intake - interact with new visitors to the pantry during the intake process

  • Phone - screen phone calls, set up appointments, provide referrals

  • Administrative - complete daily administrative tasks

  • Grocery Floor Guide - help neighbors as they navigate the shopping experience

  • Grocery Check Out - interact with neighbors as you weigh and record grocery items

  • Prayer - pray with neighbors and/or for their prayer requests

  • Restock - Restock the grocery floor, dry goods, cold/frozen foods (separate signup choices)

  • Incoming Food Management - weigh, check dates, put items in correct locations

  • Pre-pack and bulk distribution prep - bag items for neighbors who prefer not to shop or for large groups

  • Re-pack bulk items, organize inventory, restock the shelves (“behind the scenes” when pantry is closed)

To Volunteer in Our Pantry

Thank you for your interest in getting involved with NETWorks! It takes dozens of volunteers from all over our community to make this ministry happen.

Please sign up for an available volunteer shift.  We'll be happy to train you on any and all of our volunteer jobs while you're here with us!

With our move to our grocery store-style pantry, we have many volunteer positions. Please see the descriptions above and use the link below to sign up.

If you are one of our volunteers or want to start volunteering in our pantry, just click on the button below to sign up on our online calendar. If you are new, we will train you "on the job." Thank you for helping your neighbor!

We welcome volunteers of ALL ages. Volunteers 13 and younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (parent/guardian has to work alongside the youth). Volunteers 14-17 can volunteer on their own, but we will require paperwork to be signed by a parent/guardian.

Good Neighbor Back To School Shop Volunteers

We believe people prefer to provide for themselves to taking a handout. Our Good Neighbor Back to School Shop provides school supplies at significantly reduced prices. Held this year Thursday, Friday, Saturday August 1, 2, and 3.
