What is Growings!?

At NETWorks, we are dedicated to providing nutritious, delicious food to our neighbors through our food pantry. Fresh produce plays a key role in achieving this goal, but buying fresh fruits and vegetables can be costly, and donations don’t always provide the freshest options. That's why we decided to take matters into our own hands and grow our own!

While outdoor gardening has its challenges, like limited space, unpredictable weather, and the time it takes to maintain, we found a solution: hydroponics. By growing indoors with nutrient-rich water instead of soil, we can speed up the growing process and ensure consistent, reliable harvests.

In our warehouse, we grow a variety of produce—greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs—all year round. This method gives us ready access to high-quality, fresh produce with an extended shelf life, providing neighbors with the healthy items they want to put on their tables. It’s a win-win!

We need your help! Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply want to lend a hand, there are plenty of ways to get involved. From starting seedlings to planting, managing crops, harvesting, and packaging, we rely on volunteers to keep things growing. If you’re ready to pitch in, email neil@networkscoop.org to get started—he’ll find the perfect way for you to help!
